Government Vows to Make Gwadar a Smart Port City – Development Update
On Monday February 17, DG Gwadar Development Authority Shahzeb Khan Kakar while addressing in a meeting with members of Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) said that Government is all set to expedite development in Gwadar now.
He told that all bylaws are set to take the activities forward in the Developing Port City and all bottlenecks of Gwadar’s Development have been cleared. He expressed his trust towards ABAD saying that Gwadar would become a city like Singapore under the well-organized association like ABAD.
ABAD Chairman Mohsin Sheikhani, Senior Vice Chairman Sohail Warind, Chairman Southern Region Muhammad Ali Ratadia, Shahid Baloch, Director Town Planning GDA, Assistant Town Planning, former chairman ABAD Junaid Ashraf Taloo, Hassan Bakshi, CEO of Star Marketing Wasiq Naeem and several other members of ABAD were also present at the event.
Hurdles Cleared of Gwadar’s Development – Latest Update
While expressing his views to the members of ABAD, DG GDA Shahzeb Khan Kakar told that non-availability of water, shortage of electricity and law and order was the three major glitches hurdling in way of Gwadar’s Development which all have been cleared now.
Water Pipelines from various dams and desalination plants have been installed to overcome the problem of Water Provision while 300 Megawatt Power Plant is also been establishing to fulfill energy requirement of development works. The third hurdle of law and order has also been addressed so Gwadar is all set to expedite development and taking forward the work of Master Plan.
Private Sector will be Given Priority for Gwadar Development
DG GDA Shahzeb Kakar said that private sector will be given priority for Gwadar development and One Window facility will be provided to the sector. He said Gwadar would be made a Digitalized city and all land records will be digitalized.
Addressing the meeting Chairman ABAD Mohsin Sheikhani suggested that all stakeholders and investors should be taken into confidence and should be promised to not make any alterations to Gwadar Master Plan. He said that a long term and stable policy and facilities to investors are necessary for the development of Gwadar.
