Pakistan kicks off export via Gwadar Port for the first time. Initiation of exports through Gwadar Port will be helpful diminishing load on Karachi Port. Gwadar Port is now given a kick off to serve Pakistan with its trade services and first shipment has departed to far-east carrying three containers.
First Export Batch Left from Gwadar Port – Latest Update
On Saturday December 14 first shipment left from Gwadar Port to far eastern countries carrying three fish containers worth $50,000. Adviser to Prime Minister on Trade and Industries Abdul Razak Dawood announced this great news on twitter. Gwadar Port is now become functional for export sharing the load of Karachi Port.
Transit Trade has already been kicked off at Gwadar Port and first export shipment via Gwadar Port also departed using WeBOC (Web Based One Customs) clearance system which was introduced at the port couple of months back in September 2019. Containers also utilized the services of COSCO (China Ocean Shipping Company) and KGS (Karachi-Gwadar-Gulf Service).
Abdul Razak Dawood Announces about Export Initiation at Gwadar Port
On Saturday December 14, Advisor to PM on Trade and Industries Abdul Razak Dawood did the announcement about the export initiation from Gwadar Port saying that it would minimize load on Karachi Port. Dawood did the announcement on the micro blogging website Twitter.
“Big News: Gwadar becomes operational for exports! Seafood export, in reefer containers, using WeBOC system, started on 19 November 2019 through COSCO’s KGS service. The vessel loaded 3 containers of fish for far eastern ports. Avg value of cargo is $50,000/container. This would reduce time for trading across borders & also reduce port congestion at Karachi.”
