Multan-Sukkur Motorway – CPEC Development Update
Multan-Sukkur section (M5) of the motorway has been completed. Day by day CPEC projects are getting completed and Government is committed towards the timely completion and implementation of the megaproject. Government has reserved PKR 118 Billion out of a total budget of PKR 156 billion, for timely completion of National Highway Authority (NHA) projects.
CPEC based NHA projects are playing spine role in functionality of CPEC so these infrastructural projects are compulsory to be completed on time. Here is another noteworthy accomplishment done on Multan-Sukkur Motorway.
Multan-Sukkur Motorway Completed
Multan-Sukkur M-5 is one of the major infrastructure projects of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), work on which has been completed ahead of schedule by the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC). The project is worth $2 billion, and has a length of 392 km. Moreover the project has created over 23,000 jobs for local population. So far it’s the biggest project done under CPEC.
Chinese DCM Multan-Sukkur Motorway
Chinese Deputy Chief of Mission Lijian Zhao Friday congratulated Pakistan on the completion of Multan-Sukkur section M5, Karachi-Multan Motorway.
He tweeted, “MashAllah! Peshawar-Karachi Mortorway (Multan-Sukkur section or #M5) has been completed. It created 23000 local jobs. It will be open to traffic soon. It is the largest project under CPEC. China Construction did a terrific job! @CPEC_CSCEC”.
One after another, completion of CPEC projects reflects the government interest and seriousness towards CPEC and the Gwadar Port mainly attached to it. Development activities are on the roll and halted works will pick up speed after the launch of Gwadar Master Plan for which Minister Khusro Bakhtiar has already hinted about the launch soon.
