Yesterday on August 8 Prime Minister Imran Khan held first National Development Council (NDC) meeting with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa to get detailed briefing on Gwadar New Master Plan and Development Plan for Balochistan.
Other high-ups were also present in NDC meeting where Minister of Planning and Development, Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar put forward the proposal of declaring whole Gwadar District as special economic zone.
Gwadar Proposed Special Economic Zone
The official sources said that Gwadar New Master Plan would be presented to the high-powered council with proposal to declare whole Gwadar district as special economic zone. This proposal will increase the worth of Gwadar even more.
In case the proposal is accepted and government declares entire Gwadar district as special economic zone which is very much expected, Gwadar will not only be developed immediately but will also benefit entire Balochistan catering local population by improving their livings.
Projects planned for Gwadar Port City aim developing Balochistan with its economic, social, technical, and energy potential integrating it within the economic framework of Pakistan and China.
Already Gwadar is reputable as future business hub of Pakistan with a great trade hustle bustle around the deep sea port connected with CPEC. The news of Gwadar New Master Plan launch coupled with this proposal of declaring whole Gwadar district a special economic zone is an icing on cake to enhance appeal for Gwadar real estate.
