Chinese Firm to Begin Construction of Gwadar Hospital Next Month
Chinese constructors will start construction on Gwadar Hospital next month. Gwadar Hospital dubbed as Pak-China Friendship Hospital is a project with state of the art health facilities for the people of Gwadar and Balochistan which was so far the most deprived and under-developed province of Pakistan.
Chinese mega state-owned enterprise, Gansu Provincial Construction Investment (Holdings) Group Construction won the bid for construction of second phase of Gwadar Hospital. Total bid price of project was $25.7 million.
“The construction on the mega project will start in December this year and will be completed within stipulated time frame of 24 months”.
Gwadar Hospital – Details of Project
Gwadar Hospital will be the first hospital of its kind in the province built on 68 Acres of land comprised of 6 blocks while currently the hospital has a small 50 bed facility. After completion the hospital will become a 150 bed hospital with most up to the minute modern features and advanced facilities and equipment.
After the completion of second phase of development starting by next month, Gwadar Hospital will get a further extension to 300 beds. Plan of Gwadar Hospital further shows an outpatient department, an emergency department, nursing and paramedical institutes, medical college and central laboratory and other allied facilities.
GDA is the execution company of Gwadar Hospital being financed through a Chinese government grant.
