Gwadar’s $100 Million Pak-China Friendship Hospital under CPEC – Development Update

Maritime Affairs’ Minister, Ali Haider Zaidi updated media about the development of Gwadar’s $100 Million Pak-China Friendship Hospital. Gwadar’s Pak-China Friendship Hospital is a project of CPEC infrastructure portfolio aiming to provide advanced medical facilities for the people of Gwadar and Balochistan.

Gwadar’s Pak-China Friendship Hospital – Development Update

On Wednesday October 9, Minister of Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi and Chairman of China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC), Zhang Baozhong held a press conference in Islamabad to update media about the progress of various CPEC projects in Gwadar.

Minister Zaidi shared development update on the construction of Gwadar’s Pak-China Friendship Hospital costing 100 million US dollars. Gwadar’s Pak-China Friendship Hospital will comprise 68 acres of land containing six blocks.

Construction on Gwadar’s Pak-China Friendship Hospital residential blocks is completed nearly around 20 per cent. Rest of the work is underway with fast pace to development.

Development Update on CPEC Projects in Gwadar

While updating media on the progress of Gwadar’s Pak-China Friendship Hospital and other CPEC Projects in Gwadar, Minister Ali Haider Zaidi, Planning Minister Khusro Bakhtiar and Chairman of COPHC discussed development on several projects.

Minister Zaidi explained about Gwadar International Airport, 300-megawatt coal-fired power plant and Water Desalination plant to be set up in Gwadar. Water Distillation Plant will treat 5,00,000 gallons of water per day for human consumption.

Chairman COPHC, Zhang Baozhong acknowledged Pakistan’s government immediate steps to resolve the issues at Gwadar Port that is now going to be open for Transit Trade. He also said that now it’s time for Gwadar to become a giant commercial hub for the region with a very bright future.

“This economic hub will invite billions’ dollar investment along with employment opportunities as development is in process to shape Gwadar into an international port city.” said Chairman COPHC.
