Fiber Optic project of CPEC is of a milestone importance in its communication framework. The CPEC Fiber Optic Network Map shares the details of 820 kilometers long fiber optic cable and its route from Rawalpindi to Khunjrab. CPEC Fiber Optic Network is planned at an estimated cost of $44 Million.

Fiber Optic Network Map shows the line passage of internet and telecom laid down to connect the Transit Europe-Asia Terrestrial Cable Network with that of Pakistan. This network will bring 3G and 4G coverage in Gilgit Baltistan region.

If you look into this CPEC Fiber Optic Network Map you will see that 466.54 kilometers of the cable route is located in Gilgit-Baltistan, while 287.66 kilometers is been laid in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, 47.56 kilometers in Punjab province, and 18.2 kilometers in Islamabad Capital Territory.

The Fiber Optic network is been active by July 2018 and its considered to be the first cross-border contact between two neighbors. This communication contact is a great achievement for internet traffic from China to Middle East, Africa and Europe.
